Are you in?Primary Purpose: PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

An entry-level to mid-level attorney responsible for providing full legal service to clients under the supervision of a managing or supervising attorney. Carries out legal assignments, including research and preparation of contracts and briefs. Performs non-routine legal assignments.

Primary Duties: PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Performs broad and moderately complex legal assignments that are varied. Assists more experienced attorneys in representing Exelon in agency proceedings and/or relevant litigation. Advise clients with respect to all legal matters. (75%)
• Responsible for developing an understanding of each assigned client's business and business philosophy. (10%)
• Prepare, and revise as necessary, budgets and early matter assessments for all matters involving outside counsel. (10%)
• Projects / duties as assigned. (5%)

Job Scope: JOB SCOPE

• Supports more experienced attorneys in ongoing relationships and matters with Business Units and outside counsel.
• Able to think strategically and work with Business Units to achieve Company objectives and manage risk.

Minimum Qualifications:

An LLB or JD from an accredited law school and be licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdictions. At least 4 years of professional experience. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Requires excellent legal research, analytical abilities and an ongoing knowledge of federal and/or state law as required by the position.

Must have the ability to communicate clearly – both orally and in writing; to read and analyze legal materials and other data; to work in stressful conditions under time deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with a utility or regulatory agency.

Familiarity with administrative law processes and the fundamentals of agency authority.

Experience assisting in preparation of a contested matter for a hearing on the merits.

Experience drafting preliminary pleadings, appearances, and motions.

Experience with Illinois appellate practice.
