Job Description

We are looking for a Construction Manager to take on a key leadership role within a civil construction and site development company. This position is responsible for leading estimating efforts, overseeing project execution, and supporting field operations across roadway, site development, and paving projects. The role combines strategic planning with hands-on involvement in the field, working closely with supervisors and crews to ensure successful delivery. This is a long-term leadership opportunity for someone looking to grow into senior operational oversight within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead estimating efforts including takeoffs, cost analysis, and bid preparation for civil construction projects
  • Develop project scopes, budgets, and execution plans for roadway, site development, and paving work
  • Oversee multiple active projects and support field supervisors to ensure timelines and quality standards are met
  • Maintain a strong field presence to monitor progress, resolve issues, and support team performance
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and design plans to ensure accurate execution
  • Utilize design software such as AutoCAD or similar tools to support project planning and layout
  • Coordinate equipment, materials, and subcontractors across projects to maintain efficiency
  • Track project costs, production, and profitability while identifying risks and implementing solutions
  • Collaborate with leadership on strategic planning, forecasting, and operational improvements
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams, vendors, and clients to support long-term success

Requirements

5+ years of experience in civil construction, site development, or heavy highway projects

Strong experience with estimating, takeoffs, and bid preparation for construction projects

Experience managing projects related to road construction, paving, or site development

Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar design and layout software preferred

Hands-on experience working closely with field crews and construction operations

Strong understanding of construction equipment, materials, and project sequencing

Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines effectively

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred
