Total Veterinary Care in Grove City (Greater Columbus Area), a three-doctor, general day practice, is looking for a dedicated, motivated, and experienced vet assistant to join our dynamic team. If you are passionate about animal care, client education, and have proven skills as a vet assistant, we want to hear from you!
Hiring range: $16 - $18 per hour, depending on experience and skill-level.
Schedule:
Tuesday - Saturday, weekly
Must be available a minimum of 30 hours each week to be considered full-time
We are looking for someone who:
Has at least 1 FULL YEAR (12+ months) of full-time experience as a veterinary assistant in a general practice, small animal hospital
Has the ability to demonstrate: proper restraining techniques, in-house laboratory skills, catheter placement, blood draws, ability to accurately fill prescriptions, etc.
Has solid soft skills/people skills including: effective communication with clients and fellow team members, problem-solving, work ethic, maturity, time-management, and other interpersonal skills
Has a solid understanding of preventative medications, medical terminology and calculations, and a passion for client education
Takes initiative by preparing for each day’s appointments, taking phone calls, setting appointments, taking medical history of patients, assisting veterinarians in surgery, physical exams, and diagnostic workups
Can demonstrate efficient organization and has the ability to pay attention to multiple details by taking initiative and staying motivated to provide excellent service to our clients
Wants to learn new skills and is focused on using them to advance their careers for the betterment of themselves, their team, and the clients and patients we serve
Has a positive attitude and is an effective and respectful team player
