Overview:
PSEG Long Island is seeking a hands-on Infrastructure Project Manager to lead a Red Hat Enterprise Linux upgrade initiative (RHEL 7 to RHEL 8/9) across approximately 70 servers. This is a high-visibility role supporting the Head of IT Infrastructure, with regular interaction with senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead end-to-end delivery of Linux infrastructure upgrade (RHEL 7 8/9)
Coordinate across infrastructure, cybersecurity, and operations teams
Manage project scope, schedule, risks, and dependencies
Drive execution with minimal oversight in a fast-paced environment
Create and present executive-level PowerPoint status decks for CIO and SLT
Provide clear updates on progress, risks, and mitigation plans
Ensure alignment with evolving cybersecurity and compliance standards

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of experience as an Infrastructure Project Manager
Proven experience managing Linux/Unix server upgrade or infrastructure modernization projects
Strong understanding of Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments (preferred)
Experience managing projects involving server environments (50+ servers preferred)
Ability to work independently without handholding
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

Critical Skills (Must-Have):

Executive communication & presentation (PowerPoint)
Experience presenting to CIO / Senior Leadership (SLT)
Infrastructure project delivery (not application development)
Risk, issue, and dependency management

Nice to Have:

Experience in utilities or regulated environments
Exposure to cybersecurity/compliance-driven infrastructure changes
Familiarity with tools like MS Project, ServiceNow, Jira

Important Notes:

This is not a development or Scrum role
Candidates must be comfortable owning delivery and presenting to executives
Strong preference for candidates who have led similar Linux upgrade or server modernization projects
