As a Personal Banker at BOK Financial, you play a meaningful role in both the client experience and the McAlester community. Job Description

In this role, you’ll deliver a highly personalized experience by building genuine relationships with clients and understanding what matters most to them. You’ll go beyond day-to-day transactions to provide thoughtful recommendations and solutions that support each client’s financial journey. As part of a community-focused branch in McAlester, you’ll work closely with your team to strengthen local relationships and contribute to the overall success of the market. This is a hands-on, people-first role where your ability to connect, problem-solve, and take ownership of the client experience will set you apart.

 

During your first nine weeks of employment, you will participate in a comprehensive training program. Please note that the training schedule may differ from your regular work schedule, and you may be required to train at a different location before being permanently assigned to a branch.

How You'll Spend Your Time

  • Building strong, trust-based relationships with clients in the McAlester community by understanding their needs and providing personalized support

  • Engaging in meaningful, consultative conversations that go beyond transactions to uncover opportunities to help clients achieve their financial goals

  • Partnering closely with your team to deliver a seamless, relationship-focused branch experience

  • Educating clients on banking products, services, and digital tools that enhance convenience and financial well-being

  • Taking ownership of client interactions—resolving questions and concerns with care, accuracy, and follow-through

  • Supporting day-to-day branch operations, including teller transactions, while identifying opportunities to deepen relationshipsContinuously developing your skills through training, coaching, and hands-on experience to grow your career within BOK Financial

Education & Experience Requirements

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 1+ years of sales or customer service experience; a college degree is a plus or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Working knowledge of consumer financial products and services
  • Working knowledge of banking, retail sales operations and/or contact center operations including phone, email and chat support
  • Excellent verbal communication skills; effectively and courteously providing customer information, resolving issues and building relationships to gain information by asking appropriate questions
  • Excellent written communication skills demonstrated by professional etiquette, proper grammar and punctuation
  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to follow established standards and use judgment to determine when appropriate to escalate
  • Strong basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) in order to reconcile accounts
  • Working PC application skills including word processing and spreadsheet packages and the ability to learn to use various internal company systems
  • Ability to complete multiple tasks at a time
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including sales and client relations skills, both in-person and via telephone
  • Detail oriented, high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment & under pressure, as needed
