We're hiring a  full-time W-2 Sign Language Interpreter (SLI)  to provide  K–12 school-based  services for the 2025–2026 school year.  Whether you're an experienced school nurse or new to the field, you’ll be supported by a team that understands the real challenges and joys of this work—and is here to help you thrive.

Position Details

• Caseload: Multiple positions available, mostly 1:1 support positions
• Schedule: Monday – Friday
• Hours: 37.5 – 40 hours/week
• Dates: August 2025 – May 2026
• Location: Onsite in North Carolina

Responsibilities

• Provide sign language interpreting services for students who are Deaf or hard of hearing in academic and social settings
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and support teams to ensure access to instruction
• Interpret classroom lectures, discussions, and extracurricular activities
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional interpreting standards and school policies
• Participate in IEP meetings and team discussions when appropriate

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in interpreting or related field preferred
• Valid RID certification  or  EIPA score of 3.4 or higher  preferred (or willingness to obtain)
• Experience working in educational settings strongly preferred
• Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
• Reliable, professional, and student-centered
