Serena Pastificio is putting the art of scratch-made dishes on display by inviting you into our kitchen. Visible to our guests, our pasta making station gives guests a closer look at the handcrafted commitment to quality. Blending old-school Italian flavors with new-school techniques, Serena Pastificio focuses on the freshest ingredients and simple recipes to offer flavorful dishes rooted in tradition. The same care and attention put into each recipe is also used in crafting seasonal Italian cocktails and a carefully curated wine list to be enjoyed on its own or expertly paired with a dish.

Host/Hostess

We are seeking a highly motivated and polished Host to join our dynamic team at our upscale Italian restaurant. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and possess excellent communication skills to create memorable guest experiences. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an elite team in a high-energy, fine-dining environment. Accountable for creating a welcoming environment by greeting and seating guests in a prompt and friendly manner. Responsible for taking reservations and answering questions.

Responsibilities:

  • Create a Memorable First Impression: Greet each guest warmly and genuinely, ensuring they feel welcomed from the moment they arrive.
  • Phone Etiquette & Reservations: Answer the phone with a friendly, professional tone, taking reservations and addressing guest inquiries promptly and with care.
  • Reservation Management: Utilize our reservation system and seating chart effectively to ensure seamless guest flow, in accordance with our restaurant's policies.
  • Menu Expertise: Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the menu, including food and beverage offerings, and respond to guest questions with confidence and enthusiasm.
  • Guest Interaction & Service: Engage with multiple guests simultaneously, balancing priorities and ensuring each guest receives exceptional, personalized service.
  • Farewell Excellence: Use courteous and hospitable farewell techniques, ensuring every guest feels appreciated and valued as they leave.
  • Housekeeping Duties: Take initiative in maintaining cleanliness throughout the restaurant by sweeping and mopping floors, emptying trash, and ensuring restrooms are spotless.
  • Team Support: Assist in mentoring and training new team members as requested by Management, promoting a collaborative and supportive environment.
Requirements:

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a high-end restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of food service or customer service experience.
  • Experience with point-of-sale systems, OpenTable, and reservation management is highly recommended.
  • Exceptional guest service skills with a focus on creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with guests, team members, and management.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, remaining calm and composed under pressure.
  • Capable of managing reservations, greeting guests, and ensuring seamless guest flow during busy service times.
  • Experience in anticipating guest needs and delivering exceptional hospitality.
  • Strong multitasking abilities and attention to detail to ensure the highest level of service.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the front-of-house team to ensure smooth operations.
  • Knowledge of the restaurant's menu, wines, and signature cocktails to assist guests with dining decisions and provide recommendations when needed.
  • Ability to uphold a professional demeanor, appearance, and communication style in alignment with the restaurant's luxury standards.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures and systems in a fast-evolving environment.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical demands include standing, bending, kneeling, lifting, and carrying up to 50 lbs.
